Are you interested in serving as a member on the Franklin County Advisory Board of Adjustment Variance Board?
Franklin County is currently seeking citizens who have a willingness to serve as a member on the Advisory Board of Adjustment Variance Board for district 4 and district 2. We are looking for Board Seat Members and Alternate Seat Members. The district membership shall be a resident of Franklin County and live within the district. However, the alternate member only needs to be a resident of Franklin County. This is a volunteer position, and therefore as a member you are responsible for attending each scheduled Advisory Board of Adjustment Variance Board meeting beginning the month of your appointment date. These meetings typically occur on the second Wednesday of every month at 10:00AM here in the Commission meeting room at 34 Forbes Street, Apalachicola, FL.
The Advisory Board of Adjustment Variance Board is responsible for processing variance requests of the property owners and/or their representatives with respect to individual variance cases. The Board is also responsible for hearing and recommending variance matters in accordance with the Franklin County Zoning Ordinance. By serving on this Volunteer Board, you are a part of this process which is a strong desire of the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners.
Any resident wishing to serve as a member or alternate member should submit a cover letter explaining their interest in serving on the Board of Adjustment Variance Board which needs to include your name, residing address, telephone number, and an email address no later than Friday, July 16th, 2021.
