Are you interested in serving as a member on the Franklin County Planning & Zoning Adjustment Board?
Franklin County is currently seeking citizens who have a willingness to serve as a member on the Planning & Zoning Adjustment Board. The seats available are for District 4 and two Alternate seats. The District 4 membership shall be a resident of Franklin County and live within the district. The Alternate seat memberships only require that you are a resident of Franklin County, you do not have to live in a specific district. This is a volunteer position, and therefore as a member you are responsible for attending each scheduled Planning & Zoning Adjustment Board meeting beginning the month of your appointment date. These meetings typically occur on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30PM here in the Commission meeting room at 34 Forbes Street, Apalachicola, FL.
The Planning & Zoning Adjustment Board is responsible for processing zoning cases and variance requests of the property owners and/or their representatives with respect to individual zoning cases and variance cases. The Board is also responsible for hearing and recommending zoning matters and recommending variance matters in accordance with the Franklin County Zoning Ordinance. By serving on this Volunteer Board, you are a part of this process which is a strong desire of the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners.
Any resident wishing to serve as a member should submit a cover letter explaining their interest in serving on the Planning & Zoning Adjustment Board which needs to include your name, residing address, telephone number, and an email address no later than Friday, October 15th, 2021. This cover letter can be emailed to Cortni Bankston @ Cortnib@franklincountyflorida.com.
