Roads and Bridges Department

The Franklin County Roads and Bridges Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of county-owned roads, bridges, drainage systems, rights-of-way, and related infrastructure throughout Franklin County. Our goal is to provide safe, reliable transportation infrastructure while serving the residents of Franklin County.

• Driveway Permit
  A Driveway Connection Permit is required before installing or modifying a driveway connecting to a county-maintained road. Applications may be submitted by email or in person. Once received, Road Department staff will review the application, determine whether the roadway is county-maintained, inspect the site if necessary, and determine whether a culvert is required.
• Right-of-Way Permit
  A Permit to Work Within County Road Right-of-Way Limits is required before performing work within the County's right-of-way, including utility work, drainage improvements, excavation, construction activities, or other work that may impact County property.
