SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 NEW ANNOUCEMENT: 

SHIP Program Update

We want to provide a quick update regarding the processing of SHIP applications. At this time, we are currently down to just one approved contractor, and we are actively working to bring additional contractors on board.

This shortage is causing some unavoidable delays in processing applications.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your patience as we continue working diligently to expand our contractor list. Please know that we are committed to moving projects forward and ensuring that services are provided as quickly as possible.

JUNE 25, 2025 NEW ANNOUNCEMENT: 

“We have had an incredible response to the SHIP Program. Because of the high volume of applications received, processing times may be longer than usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we carefully and diligently review each submission.”

APRIL 3RD, 2025 NEWS:

The Franklin County Board of County Commissioners through the Franklin County S.H.I.P Program will be accepting applications for Fiscal years 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025, for the Down Payment Assistance, Emergency Repair, Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation, and Demolition/Reconstruction programs.

Applications will be accepted beginning May 2nd, 2025, and will end on June 30th, 2026, for the Emergency Repair and Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation programs.

Applications for Down Payment Assistance will also begin May 2nd, 2025, and will end on June 30, 2026.

Applications for the Demolition/Reconstruction program will be first come first eligible. With limited funding for this program, we will be limited to 1 eligible applicant per fiscal year.

Applications for all programs will be served on a first come first eligible basis. The total allocation is $1,435,701.71 and priority will be given to special needs households as defined in section 420.0004 (13) and 393.063 (9) Florida Statues.

Please be aware that if you have applied for SHIP previously and were not served, you will need to reapply. The program will not use any names or applications from prior waiting list.

WHAT’S THE SHIP APPLICATION PROCESS:

Step 1

Complete an application and submit either in-person or via email at tinab@franklincountyflorida.gov

 Step 2

Once your application has been assessed, staff will reach out to request any other information needed.

 Step 3

If you have been determined to be eligible, staff will reach out and schedule an in-person appointment.
